Sri Lankan Airlines: Five-member Presidential Commission to commence investigations

The gazette notification on the appointment of a five-member commission to investigate allegations of fraud and corruption at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering (Pvt) Ltd. and Mihin Lanka Airlines, has been issued.

Government printer, Ganga Kalpani Liyanage, said an extraordinary gazette notification was issued last night.

President Sirisena signed the gazette yesterday.

The five-member commission includes Retired Supreme Court Judge Anil Goonaratne, Court of Appeal Judge Gamini Amarasekera, Retired High Court Judge Piyasena Ranasinghe, Retired Deputy Auditor General Anthony Harold and National Accounting Standards Board Director General Wasantha Kapugama.

The commission will investigate any irregularities that took place between January 1, 2006 and January 1, 2018.
