Distribution of polling cards underway-Dept of Postal

The Department of Posts has declared Sunday (July 17) as a special day with regard to the distribution of polling cards of the 2020 Parliamentary Election, the Department of Posts said.

The Department of Posts has declared both today the 19th of July and Sunday (26th July) as special days for the distribution of polling cards.

“All post offices across the island will be open today, to carry out the distribution of polling cards of the upcoming General Election,” Rajitha Ranasinghe, the Deputy Post Master General told

According to Ranasinghe, 25% of distribution activities have already concluded.

He further went onto note that 29th of July was declared by the Department of Posts and the National Elections Commission, as the final date for the distribution of polling cards.

After the 29th of July, the distribution of polling cards from house to house will conclude.

As such, the Deputy Post Master General noted, “Those who fail to collect their polling cards by the 29th of July, can collect it from the respective post office, upon confirmation of identity.”
