Duty-Free shops at the BIA re-open today

Duty-Free shops at the Bandaranaike International Airport will re-open starting on Monday (July 6), for passengers who arrived in the island between 9th March to 31st May, airport officials said.

“Passengers must call and place an appointment before visiting the duty-free shops; and they must carry with them the certificate issued from the quarantine centres and the certificate issued by Public Health Inspectors on the completion of self-quarantine,” Major General (Rtd.) G. A. Chandrasiri, the Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited, said on Monday.

Furthermore, those who visit duty-free shops must also bring the Passport and the National Identity Card.

Duty-Free shops at the airport will be open from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, daily.
